Rainy River Elk Company is a family farm business operated by Bill Darby and Deb Cornell. We are located at 666 Lavallee Road North, in the community of Devlin approximately 15 km West for Fort Frances, in northwestern Ontario. We began our business in 1995 and in recent years average about 120 elk on the farm. Our elk are on natural grass pastures in the summer and fed local hay in winter months. Throughout the year some grain supplement is given, not only for nutrition but for training purposes. We purchase local grains whenever possible. No growth stimulants, antibiotics or steroids are used in feed.

Elk is a delicious, full-flavoured red meat with a hint of sweetness. It is low in fat and cholesterol - a heart healthy choice. It is interesting to note that elk loin is lower in fat than skinless chicken breast. We carry a wide selection of frozen elk cuts and our smoked products are hugely popular!
